History Revised

The revision of history is not an act of vandalism, but of illumination." - John Keegan

The pandemic forced me to re-examine my identity as a person of color. The familiar world I knew shattered, revealing my own privilege and naiveté. This sparked deep questions about race and history, ones I'd never truly grappled with before. It led me to wonder: what would our world look like if the past were different?

My "History Revised" project is a creative exploration of this question. It's an attempt to reimagine a more equitable future by revisiting the past. I do this by merging historical photographs with personal and public images, highlighting the absence of black and brown people in spaces where they were historically excluded.
